Create is looking of a postdoctoral researcher framed within the European project INVERSE (INteractive robots that intuitiVely lEarn to inVErt tasks by ReaSoning about their Execution).
The selected candidate will carry out research activities in the field of artificial intelligence and cognitive robotics at large, including cognitive systems for robotics, lifelong autonomy, human-robot interaction and cooperation, task learning, transfer learning, structured task execution and monitoring. In particular, the activity will focus on developing a cognitive control framework for the flexible execution and continuous monitoring of structured robotic tasks within a learning from demonstration cycle.
Candidates should hold a PhD in robotics, computer science, or a related field and have strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python, as well as experience with ROS/ROS2 frameworks. Expertise in one or more of the following areas—cognitive robotics, robot learning, human-robot interaction, robot planning, robot manipulation and control—as well as hands-on experience with real robots, is highly desirable. Good knowledge of the English language is also required.
The starting date of the employment is expected to be 01/10/2025. The employment contract shall expire on 30/09/2026.
The working place is within the premises of CREATE, in Napoli via Claudio 21, Italy.
The working time is a full time equivalent, corresponding to 40 hours per week.
